Letter from Lee Kauffman

During one of Lee's recent Bible studies, the men were studying John 12 that talks about secret believers. During the question and answer time, Lee asked if there were secret believers today. One of the men said yes he was a secret believer and he also said there were other secret believers in the village. Pray that they would decide to meet together, form a church, and have the courage to tell others about Jesus.
This is a picture of Abdoulaye Goudaby studying the Bible several years ago. After going through a storying cycle with Lee and a group of other men he prayed to accept Jesus as his Savior, but he continued to go to the mosque and recently he only occasionally came to Bible studies. We pray he was a secret believer. He passed away March 26th. As we sat at his funeral with several hundred Muslim Jola people, we were again reminded of the urgency for these people to know about Jesus. Pray that God would reveal Himself to these people. Pray that God would also reveal to the Kauffman's where He would like them to start another storying group.
Continue to pray for MT. He is growing in his faith. He has refused to participate in some traditional ceremonies as well as at the mosque. However, he has not stated that it is because of his faith in Jesus that he cannot participate. Pray that he will have the boldness to tell others in his community about Jesus and of his faith in Jesus. Pray that there would be others in his village that would believe in Jesus.
Thank you for praying for the teacher's Bible study. Five of the six teachers met one time before they let school out for Spring Break. They studied the first two chapters of Genesis and were very interested and asked lots of questions. Please pray that they would continue to be interested and come each week to study the Bible. Pray that God would reveal Himself to them through His Word. Pray that they would share the Bible stories with others they come in contact with each day.
Suzanne has recently been teaching two Jola ladies about nutrition and how to add vegetables and fruits to their family's diets. Please pray that this would help their family's health and also lead to witnessing possibilities.
