Letter from Lee
Kauffman
Missionary to the Jola people of West Africa
Subject: Praise and Prayer Requests for the Jola
Date: Wed, 3 May 2006 14:17:32 -0000
Thank you for your prayers for the storying groups in Bougoutoub. We
have been encouraged this month by the things we have seen in the
village. Last month we told you about a man saying he was a secret
believer. This month as we walked around the village and visited with
our neighbors, several times we heard people listening to Bible passages
that are on cassette. There have also been more ladies coming to the
storying group. Please pray that as people hear God's Word they will
want to know more about Jesus and accept Him as their Savior.
This last month we have seen the spiritual darkness that holds the Jola
in bondage. Spirit beings play an important role in their day to day
lives. Pray that there will be a faithful witness of Jesus Christ so
that they will see the Light of the world and choose to follow Him and
be freed from their darkness.
Thank you for praying for the teacher's Bible study. Please continue to
pray for this group. The teacher's have been very busy with school and
have not had a chance to meet together for Bible study. They still seem
very interested but just a matter of scheduling. Please pray that they
would continue to have a desire to study God's Word and that the enemy
would not be allowed to disrupt their coming to a Bible study.
This week God answered prayers by allowing Burt and Suzanne to hook up
to electricity. Please continue to pray for their family as they study
language.
