Letter from Lee Kauffman
Missionary to the Jola people of West Africa

Subject: December Praise and Prayer Request for the Jola-fonyi people
Date: Monday, December 4, 2006

Thank you for praying for the prayer team coming from Idaho to adopt a Jola village to evangelize.  Please continue to pray December 4-11 for this team (Matt, Robert, and Dennis) for safe travels, for their health, and that the Lord would reveal to them His will for their church.  Tuesday the 5th we will prayer walk in the village of Dioloulou, Wednesday afternoon in the village of Sindian, Thursday in the village of Balingor, and Saturday afternoon in the village of Koubanao.  Please pray that God would reveal to the entire team which village the church should adopt so they can spend Sunday in that village meeting people and praying more specifically.

Last week Burt went into the village to check email and as he was walking along he spoke with a man who had a very sore finger due to a bad infection.  Burt asked him if he could pray with him and he said, "yes, please'.  Burt prayed in the name of Jesus and asked God to heal the man's finger.  A few days later he saw the man again and asked him how his finger was doing and he showed Burt that it was completely healed.  Burt asked the man again, "Can I pray again and thank God for healing your finger" to which the man responded again, "yes please".  Please pray that God will continue to work in AT's heart and he will be open to hear more about Jesus.

Thank you for praying for Donelle’s ladies storying group.  As a review for the ladies of the study of Luke, the Jesus film was shown to the entire Muslim village of Bougoutoub.  250-300 people attended on a Saturday night.  The following Friday Donelle met with 12 ladies and asked if they had all saw the film and did they understand it all.  The answer was yes to both questions.  She then showed several Bible story pictures from Luke that were in the film and asked what these stories were about.  They could all easily tell the stories.  Then she asked who is Jesus, do you believe Jesus is the Son of God, do you believe in your head or in your heart, do you want to ask Jesus into your heart so he can live there for always?  The answer to all of these questions was again yes.  One lady told Donelle she believed in Jesus and she had all ready prayed to ask him into her heart.  Then they prayed together and she asked them where Jesus was living now.  The response was, “In my heart.”  Please pray for these ladies to grow in their faith and for Donelle to know how to proceed from here.

Around Christmas the Kauffman’s will be showing the Jesus Film in Sunni.  This will be a review of the storying cycle and an opportunity to ask the people if they want to accept Jesus as their Savior.  Please pray for the people that the Holy Spirit will draw them to Jesus and that Lee will have the language to present the Gospel clearly as the enemy attacks language skills as well as other things when he is not happy with people following Jesus.  Pray also that they will continue to study and that a church may be started there.

Merry Christmas to all of you faithful prayer warriors.  Thank you for your prayers for the Jola-fonyi people and for the Jola-fonyi team.  We pray that God will truly bless you as you have blessed us.  Please join us in praying for the unreached people groups and our personnel in West Africa during the Week of Prayer for International Mission December 3-10.
