Letter from Lee
Kauffman
Missionary to the Jola people of West Africa
Subject: April Praise and Prayer Request for the
Jola-fonyi people
Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2007 12:17:56 -0000
Last week Donelle met with 14 Muslim women to continue storying through
the book of Luke. They started the story from Luke 23 about the
crucifixion of Jesus. After the story she had them repeat the story and
then they talked for another 10-15 minutes about who is Jesus, why did
He come to earth, did they believe in Him as God's Son, and did they
accept Him as their Savior. They all agreed and affirmed that Jesus was
their Savior and that He was in theirs hearts. They began to leave the
group at about the same time and they said they were going to the sacred
forest to pray. Donelle asked why they were going to the sacred forest
and they kept repeating "to pray". Pray that Jesus would reveal Himself
to these ladies and that they would know without any doubt that He is
the only way to heaven.
Continue to pray for MT as he grows in his faith. He
has recently begun a study of the Gospel of John. He already
understands better what Christ has done for him even in studying John
1. Pray for his wife's heart to be softened to the things of God so
that she will also become a follower of Jesus
Pray for BT as he is beginning also to study the Gospel of John. He is
searching for God. He has tried religion and found it "insufficient for
his heart." Pray that he will find a relationship with God that is deep
and personal through faith in Jesus.
Pray for the four person team from NorthRidge Fellowship in Idaho as
they come April 24-May 4 to begin their new work in Diouloulou the
village which they have adopted to evangelize. Pray for their safety in
traveling, for their health, for their families, for the work they will
be doing in the English classes at the high school, for all the
individuals they will be witnessing to in the village, and that the name
of Jesus will be glorified and a new work can begin in this village. As
we spoke with the director of
the school and asked permission to help the students speak English plus
pray in the school, the director's response was very positive plus he
said, "Many of these children need prayer as they have "phantoms" (evil
spirits) in their lives.
Please continue to pray that the believers in Bougoutoub, both men and
women, would have enough faith to step out and form a church so that
they could be worshiping together and reaching out to tell their
families, neighbors and friends about Jesus.
